Learn to Crochet the Silt Stitch

Amanda Jane

This easy to memorise crochet pattern uses double and single crochet stitches to create a lovely texture. Great for blankets, throws, cardigans, sweaters and jumpers.

In the video I use Aran weight yarn and a size 5mm crochet hook. You can use any weight of yarn and the matching crochet hook.

INSTRUCTIONS: Chain an even number of stitches plus 1

Row 1: In the 3rd chain from hook, double crochet, *single crochet, double crochet.* Repeat from *to * to last stitch, half double crochet. Chain 2. Turn.

Row 2: *Double crochet into the double crochet from the row below, Single crochet into single crochet from the row below.* Repeat to last stitch. Half double crochet in the top of the turning chain.

Repeat row 2 until the work is the length you need for your project.
